Rainbow Amigurumi Bear
March 25, 2009
This week I finished this little bear. I posted another picture of him on Philly Makes…here he is hanging precariously in a garland of flowers, looking out over the lovely neighborhood of Mount Airy.

Philly Makes!
March 11, 2009

So I recently participated in the Thing A Day challenge – make one thing each day for a month and post about it. I only made it halfway through…though I was making things still posting each day was very time consuming (you know, w/ working full time, and having a family at home that would like to see me once in a while). So some members of Handmade Philly and the Philly Etsy Team have decided to create a new challenge because we wanted to continue to have a place to share our projects with the world and see what others are working on too.
Philly Makes participants commit to making and posting one thing a week. We’re defining “thing” pretty loosely- it could be just about anything you make, even something cool you made for dinner or whatever. It doesn’t even need to be a completed project- if you have a work in progress you want to share, that’s cool too!
Want to join? Send an email to Jen with a brief description of what you make, how you would like your name listed in the Participants list, and your web URL if you have one!

Amigurumi Bear
March 11, 2009
There’s nothing like finishing a project. Especially a project that took waayyy longer then it should have. Take this bear for example. I decided to learn to crochet by making this cute little amigurumi bear. With only the most minimal knowledge, I bought a book and each day on the way to and from work, tried to make this bear. I made and unmade the head about 80 (or 180) times…the thing is I am so not like that usually. Usually I make an item one time, and there is no pulling out stitches, unless it’s absolutely dire. Anyway…I am super proud…though this little guy isn’t perfect – he’s complete. Hooray!
